Ivy raised Malik, Brianna, Aaliyah, and Trinity alongside Yvette. The children carried the Turnage surname and lived in the multigenerational household Ivy maintained in Prince George’s County.
Ivy participated in the family’s decision not to tell Malik the circumstances of his conception while he was young. During Malik’s later incarceration at Patuxent, he feared that Ivy would die before he could return home to her.
